Information We Collect
This policy applies to all personally identifiable information collected or submitted on the Site. Given that the nature of this information varies across different pages on the Site, we will briefly describe the key pieces of information we collect, as well as when the associated information exchange typically takes place.
Member Registration:
In order to become a member of Kyudu, and to gain access to all of its features, you are required to create an account on the Site.
You will not be able to enter the Site without first creating an account.
To create an account on Kyudu, you must provide the Site with the following information: full name, email address, your primary job function, company name, a brief description of what your company does, industry, country, information about your areas of expertise, and a password.
In addition, we provide you with the opportunity to enter the following optional information: your job title, estimated number of employees at your company, your company’s estimated annual revenues, information about your areas of interest, city, and state/region.
My Card Information:
Once a member, you will have the option to provide us with additional information on your My Card page, including such things as your areas of interest, a brief description about your career history, personal and professional interests, and information about your educational background. You can also edit any of the information you submitted during the member registration process on your My Card page.
You should note that submitting additional information beyond what is required during the registration process is entirely at your discretion. However, doing so would significantly enhance your ability to connect with other members, while also improving your chances for successfully fulfilling your strategic networking objectives.
Finally, you have the option to hide your personally identifiable information, including your full name, company name, and company description from the rest of the membership. You can activate this setting by logging into the Site and accessing the Privacy Controls tab of the Edit My Card page. Your email address is never displayed to other members on Kyudu.
Your Kyudu Password:
You are the only person that should ever have access to your Kyudu password. You should not disclose it to anyone else. At no time will anyone associated with Kyudu ever ask you to disclose your password. The only entity that has access to your password is the Site server, and it is for the sole purpose of verifying your identity whenever you attempt to login to the Site. Your password will be encrypted from the moment you create it on the Site.
In the event that you forget your password to the Site, we can reset it for you. To do this, you can: (1) reset it on the Site’s home page by clicking on the “Forget your password?” link and following the instructions; or, (2) contact Kyudu directly via email to
queries@kyudu.com or through postal mail at:

Forums and Conference Rooms:
An integral theme in all of the services offered on the Site is Member-to-Member collaboration. We encourage our users to share strategies, insights, and challenges with one another as much as possible. Accordingly, two key components of the Site are its Forums and Conference Rooms.
Forums are located in the Forums section of the Site, and host ongoing conversations between users that are open to the entire membership. Every member of the Site has access to the content of all Forums. Anytime any user participates in a Forum, i.e. starts a new thread or posts a reply to an ongoing threat, they do so in the knowledge that any information they submit in the Forums is publicly available to the entire membership of the Site. We are not responsible for any of the personally identifiable information you choose to submit in these forums.
Conference Rooms function in a similar fashion to Forums, with the exception that access to the content of the hosted conversations is restricted solely to participating members. A Conference Room is opened whenever a user launches a collaboration with at least one other member of the Site. Collaborations are initiated whenever a user receives an affirmative response to a collaboration request he or her sent to another member of the Site. All of Kyudu’s collaboration tools and settings, including Virtual Conference Rooms, are located in the Collaborate section of the Site.
Upon completing a collaboration in one of our Conference Rooms, participating users are asked for their permission to share the contents of the conversation with the rest of the membership. We will only make the contents of a conversation public if every participating member grants us permission to do so.
If, after agreeing to share the contents of your conversation, you decide that you no longer want a copy to be available to the entire membership,
contact Kyudu directly and we will ensure that it is no longer displayed on the public portion of the Site.
Referrals (Our Refer a Member Service):
Should you choose to recommend the Site to a colleague using Kyudu’s Refer a Member service, you will be required to provide us with his or her full name and email address. We will then automatically send your colleague an email inviting him or her to visit the Site. Kyudu will store this information for the dual purpose of sending these emails and tracking the success of our Refer a Member service.
If your colleague would like us to remove their information from our database, they can
contact us directly.
Cookies and Log Files:
A cookie is a tiny data file that resides on your computer. Cookies allow websites, like Kyudu, to recognize you as a user when you return to the site using the same computer and browser. We use cookies and log files to monitor site usage and to enable us to better match our services to suit your particular needs. Cookies and log files that track member utilization of the Site do not collect any personally identifiable information on any of our users. If cookies are not activated on your browser, the Site may not function optimally and you could potentially encounter difficulty when attempting to access and use the Site.
As a result of the various communications standards on the Internet, whenever you visit the Site, we automatically receive the Uniform Resource Locator (URL) of the site from which you came, as well as that of the site to which you are going when you leave Kyudu. We also receive the following pieces of information: the Internet protocol (IP) address of either your computer or the proxy server you use to access the Web; your computer operating system; the type of browser you are using; and, the name of your Internet Service Provider (ISP). This information is used to analyze overall user trends to help us improve the Site. We do not directly link these types of information with your personally identifiable information.
How We Use This Information
Kyudu is a worldwide, strategic collaboration portal for business professionals. We are continually looking for ways to improve the quality of the experience we offer our members. As part of our ongoing service enhancement efforts, we monitor trends in site usage and member behavior. The information you provide us plays a central role in enabling us to identify new ways to tailor our offerings to better suit your needs.
More specifically, we use the information collected about you on the Site to: aid us in designing new tools, features, and services; improve the effectiveness of our marketing and promotional efforts; refine our existing content and suite of services; and, to customize the Site’s overall layout and design to better align with your preferences. We will also use this information in the day-to-day operations of the Site, any time we need to resolve a dispute, troubleshoot a problem, or enforce the terms of our User Agreement.
Finally, we reserve the right to use the information collected about you on the Site, in aggregate form only, to help us negotiate and establish service agreements with third party public and/or private organizations, under which such organizations will act as Kyudu partners or affiliates. At no time will we share any personally identifiable information about any of our users to any prospective partner or affiliate of Kyudu.
Customer Service Communications from the Site:
Kyudu will communicate with you, from time to time, via email and internal announcements posted on the My Dashboard section of the Site. These communications include a welcome email sent to your registered email address upon completion of our member registration process. This email serves two major purposes: (1) it provides you with a record of your login information; and, (2) it helps inform you about the services we provide. In addition to this welcome email, Kyudu will also use the information you provide us with to: respond to your inquiries; provide any services you may request; and, to manage your account.
If you do not want to receive any emails from Kyudu, you can either unsubscribe by clicking on the ‘Unsubscribe’ link displayed inside one of our emails, or you contact us directly via email to
queries@kyudu.com, by telephone to 1.877.775.9838, by fax to +1.202.330.5769, or through postal mail at:

Service-Related Announcements:
There may be instances where we need to notify you of any interruptions or issues with the Site, such as when we need to temporarily shut down the Site in order to perform upgrades to our services. In these cases, we will send you an announcement to your registered email address notifying you of the situation.
Given that we cannot use the Site as a channel for this type of communication, you generally cannot opt-out of receiving these announcements. The only way you can opt-out of receiving these announcements is by completely deactivating your Kyudu account. To do this, please
contact Kyudu directly.
Automated Member Matches:
If you have provided us with at least area of interest, we use this information to match you with members that have the matching expertise. By default, we would send you a monthly email to your registered email address listing any members that possess expertise in any of your areas of interest. The main purpose of this service is to improve the chances that you will find the insight you seek even when you aren’t actively using the Site.
You have the option to change the frequency with which you receive Member Matches from Kyudu. By accessing the External Notifications tab in the Edit My Card page, you can change the frequency of these communications to any one of the following: weekly; bi-weekly; monthly; or, quarterly. You can also
contact Kyudu directly to make this change.
Finally, you have the option to opt-out of receiving Member Matches from Kyudu by: (1) accessing the External Notifications tab in the Edit My Card page, where you set the frequency with which you receive matches to “Never;” or, (2)
contacting us directly
Information Sharing Between Users
Whenever you use our “Refer a Member” service to invite a non-member of Kyudu to visit the Site, your full name will be displayed in the header of the message, and you will be given the opportunity to enter an optional description along with the invitation. No other information will be displayed in the message.
In all communications between our users, we have tried to alleviate any potential privacy concerns by providing you with the option to censor your personally identifiable information from the rest of the membership. Emails you initiate may also provide aggregate information about your network (for instance how many people are in your network) and/or your Reputation, but will never list the individual members of your network.
Should you desire to either hide or disclose your identity to other users in the Site, you can do so by changing the settings in the Privacy Controls tab of the Edit My Card page to reflect this. Instructions on how to do this were outlined earlier in this policy, under the “My Card Information” section of “Information We Collect.”
Disclosure of Information
We will never rent or sell any of your personally identifiable information to any third party. To the extent that we share information with our partners, affiliates, and advertisers, we only share aggregated information about the overall utilization of the Site that is not linked to your personally identifiable information. For example, we may segment our users by function, geographic location, or industry in order to illustrate high-level trends in member usage of the Site. If you would like to be excluded from this aggregated information, please
contact us directly and we will remove your information from the research.
There may be situations where we are forced to disclose your personal information when required by law or if we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to: comply with an ongoing judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on the Site; enforce this policy or the terms of our User Agreement; respond to claims that your personally identifiable information violates the rights of third parties; or, exercise our legal rights and protect the property or personal safety of Kyudu, its users and the general public.
By using the Site, you hereby authorize us to disclose any information about you to law enforcement or other government officials as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate, in connection with an investigation of fraud, intellectual property infringements, or any other activity that is illegal or may expose us to any potential legal liability.
Our Commitment to Data Security
Data security and privacy go hand in hand. Accordingly, we have adopted a number of industry standard technologies and protocols to aid us in providing your information with the best possible protection. To start with, access to all your data on the Site is password protected, and any sensitive information that is exchanged between your browser and the Site, such as credit card information, is protected using Extended Validation (EV) Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption.
In addition, we regularly audit our system for any potential vulnerabilities and targets for malicious attacks, we frequently conduct scans to ensure compliance with the PCI Data Security Standard (DSS), and we use a tier-one secured-access data center.
